Paul Steward

Paul Steward

Founder

Paul’s strengths in leadership, critical thinking and astute decision-making have been honed across 15 years of military and healthcare experience in the public and private sectors.

As a paramedic and close protection operative, Paul has led multi-agency operations at high profile events involving VIPs, diplomats and royalty.

During the NATO summit in 2014, he was positioned as Bronze Medical Liaison in the Command Room for Celtic Manor; a role which entailed overseeing the response to President Barack Obama, Prime Minister David Cameron and the leaders of NATO countries.

Having served in the Armed Forces, Paul maintains the highest standards of personal discipline, integrity and professionalism. It was his military background combined with his medical expertise across NHS, private healthcare and security settings that paved the way for Platinum Oak’s unique foundation.

Paul’s vision is healthcare in a security environment, bringing operational excellence to the delivery of bespoke medical support.

He is also passionate about supporting education, regularly planning and delivering courses as a medical and mental health trainer to students, peers and partnering organisations.

Julian Knight

Julian Knight

Director of Compliance

Julian’s experience in policing and corporate management has underpinned his skills in security, risk management and the protection of high-profile individuals.

Julian was Chief Superintendent at Gwent Police and Head of Neighbourhood and Partnerships. He has also worked extensively in the Corporate Management side of Policing, involved in organisational change, audit, risk, performance management and corporate governance and compliance.

He spent three years on secondment with Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) and was involved in introducing Efficiency Planning and Best Value Reviews to Policing. In 2014, Julian was appointed Police Commander of the Celtic Manor Resort during the NATO (Wales) Summit.

Julian remains significantly involved in substance misuse and treatment services as Vice-Chair of the Kaleidoscope Project Charity. He is also the Chair of the Kaleidoscope Kingston Housing Association, providing accommodation to those receiving support and treatment services.
